About this site

About.

chcfunding.uk is an independent reader for NHS England's quarterly Continuing Healthcare statistics. It exists because the variation between Integrated Care Boards in CHC approval rates is large enough to materially affect outcomes for families, and no public-facing tool surfaces that variation to the people it actually affects.

The dataset has been published for years. Researchers at the Nuffield Trust, the parliamentary Health and Social Care Committee, and the King's Fund have all written about the spread. We turn it into a per-ICB page so a family with a parent being assessed in one part of the country can see, in seconds, what the approval rate is where they live, how it compares to the national average, and what the historical trend looks like.

We do not give legal or financial advice. The data is presented as published by NHS England with caveats on what cross-ICB comparison can and cannot tell you. For specific advice on a Continuing Healthcare case, the free service is Beacon CHC, which is NHS-funded and backed by a consortium that includes Age UK, Parkinson's UK and the Spinal Injuries Association.

The site is run by Digital Signet, a UK software studio. It has no commercial relationship with NHS England, ICBs, or care providers. Where third-party services are linked from these pages we mark them as either free (Beacon CHC) or specifically as regulated advice (FCA-authorised advisers for equity release and similar). Some onward links may carry referral arrangements. None of those arrangements influence which services we recommend or the data we publish.
